DeSoto Palms is an excellent place to be. The staff is non pareille. Nothing like it in French…..helpful gentle And caring. I have been here close to 3 weeks and our wonderful therapist GILBERT. Maningas is simply one of a kind……he knows a million ways to bring our old bodies into working condition. Truly he amazes me with his knowledge and his willingness to go the extra mile. The workers simply need more help and they need roller skates for shoes….it is not unwillingness to work. It is an emotional and physically exhausting job, what CNAS do and yet they are paid the same wages that burger flippers do. They all end up with back problems and none of it is appreciated. We need to show appreciation to the ones who really are doing a super job. ~ Iris G

I moved my mother to DeSoto Palms 5 months ago. I was extremely nervous as she lived with me the last 10 years. The experience has been absolutely amazing! My mother has made so many friends, goes to at least 3 activities a day and enjoys 3 wonderful meals a day. The nursing staff is very responsive and knowledgeable. The Administrator is always available and open to all suggestions. I waited to write this review in case we were in a honeymoon period but it remains an exceptional experience. I wish I had made the move for my mother sooner, I have watched her come back to the vibrant funny lady she was before my Dad died. ~ Jessica J

My aunt moved here in April and enjoys her new home immensely. She participates in daily activities, goes on field trips and attends her church on Sunday with several other residents. Friday Happy Hour with live entertainment are the highlight of the week, we try to attend whenever we can. She really enjoys the food and it is prepared specially for her to meet her dietary needs. There is always fresh fruit, beverages and a short order restaurant when she doesn't make it to the regular dining hours. Any issues that arise, D-P works quickly to solve. ~ Kris J

My husband has been at DP for almost a year and I am very happy with the care he is receiving. The staff is friendly, professional, caring. He is looked on upon many times a day, and all the staff have smiles on (even though they have masks on, I can tell). The food is very good, too. I looked at several facilities before choosing Desoto Palms, and this home away from home is the best one I interviewed. I saw a comment about parking and I have a large van, with no issues about parking whatsoever. Go have a tour, meet the staff. Am sure you will like Desoto Palms. ~ Joanne W

I bring a different perspective - that of an observer. I take my dog there for pet therapy. I knew no one who lived there and I knew none of the staff when I started going there. My experiences have all been positive. - The place is clean with nice amenities. - No issue with parking. - Staff seems to truly care about the residents. They seem to be hard working. I've never seen any of the staff idle unless they are speaking with a resident. - The residents seem to be happy there. They speak highly of Jody, who directs activities. - Speaking of activities, the residents tell me about all of the activity options they are given and it blows me away. I have been there right after the residents have assisted in cookie making. They seem to enjoy making and eating them, and it makes the place smell so good! If I ever know of anyone who is looking for an assisted living facility, I will definitely recommend DeSoto Palms to them. I feel fortunate to have found this facility to volunteer in. My dog also seems to look forward to going to "work" and I hear the residents look forward to our visits. ~ Darlene B

This was the second ALF that my mother has lived in and i cannot speak highly enough about the wonderful experience that we have had. The staff is caring and friendly, the management is accommodating and the rooms are spacious and well maintained. If you or a loved one is looking for a well managed affordable assisted living facility, you definitely have to check this place out. ~ Catherine G

Very happy with the care and family feel when I come see my Dad. It's nice walking in and the staff knows who I am and tells me where to find my dad and what hes been doing. He enjoys all the activities and loves when the director brings her dogs in to visit . I recommend Desoto Palms to everyone that is seeking a good place for their parents . ~ Leonora D

My Mom stayed at Desoto Palms while my husband and I took our daughter to college. The last time we left her home alone, she ended up in the hospital. While at Desoto Palms, she met new people, she had tasty meals and we knew that she would be cared for when we couldn't be with her. My sister is a resident there for now almost 2 years . I looked high and low for a special place as she is still relatively young . She loves it there and I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking. The staff is wonderful and cares about the residents! ~ Paul C

The staff is very caring, warm, and respectful. The facilities are well maintained and feel like resort living. My MIL enjoys the choices for meals and the activities. Jody is truly exceptional along with all the others. Our family so appreciates everyone. ~ Beth S
